Paul Merson not impressed with Manchester United signing Marcel Sabitzer

Paul Merson has taken a strike at the latest Manchester United joining Marcel Sabitzer.

United just declared the signing of the 28-year-old midfielder,  in the dying hours of the winter transport window.

Christian Eriksen’s ankle scratch forced the club to assertively look for a chance on deadline day.

United traversed other choices like Saul Niguez, Yannick Carasco, Isco

They ultimately expressed to go for Sabitzer, who was the manager’s preferred option

Paul Merson, however, was not influenced by the signing.

“He’s way off that. Their two in midfield is attached, but if he was that good, he’d be impelling.”

“So again, it goes back to panic. There was no absorption in him on January 1st. Now, it’s a panic buy.”

“Eriksen has just got injured. It’s a panic. You’re buying fourth-choice Bayern Munich players. For, I’m not sure about that. He doesn’t get into the Bayern Munich squad.”

“If I’m a Manchester United ventilate or a Chelsea fan, I’d be facing and going, he doesn’t acquire everywhere close to Bayern’s first squad.”

 Is he going to make us better? Are there players there early who should be superior to him? In my opinion, yes.”

Merson must not have even observed Sabitzer relax in the Bundesliga.

The 28-year-old has been one of the best strikers, in Europe over the past five years.

Furthermore, his ability set matches the extract type of midfielder Ten Hag would want at United.

It is not always about the big-name signings. United has made that mistake in the past and has suffered.

The club has backed the manager and has pulled off an excellent deal on deadline day.
