There’s a space at Chelsea for Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile

Chelsea is on the verge of signing defender Benoit Badiashile from Monaco, according to Ben Jacobs in his debut article for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

But there was one key

division in there concerning Levi Colwill, and it sounds very promising from a Chelsea point of view. Many people have been questioning why Chelsea is endorsing Badiashile

since he is a young left-footed center-back, with the same profile as Colwill. However, I honestly trust that both are needed at Chelsea going forward.

Jacobs describes that Chelsea still has very many ideas for a future with Colwill in the squad, and he says that Chelsea knows they have a large flair in Colwill.

“Levi Colwillr residue part of Chelsea’s long-phrase ideas therefore why they would only permit a credit to Brighton over the season,” Jacobs wrote. “It’s been an arduous season at Brighton and he’s only played five Premier League games. But anyone I speak to at Chelsea is ever quick to underline his high perspective. Chelsea knows they have excellent talent.”

And as I told you above, I truly trust we will need both of them going forward. Thiago Silva is nearing 40 and has an

agreement running out this season. Kalidou Koulibaly is in his early 30s and doesn’t pack me with

reliance. Trevoh Chalobah is adequate but he’s being kept out by Koulibaly presently and won't be happy being a bench player. Wesley Fofana has early proven to be injury-prone early doors, and other than that, pure center-back choices are scarce at the club.

Personally, I can see Colwill changing Silva because his profile is much more same to that Badiashile's. I think he could easily sit in the middle of a back three if we lined up like that, or either right center back or left center back in a four. Both he and Badiashile could have a future in the same shelter at Chelsea, for definite.

Chelsea desires to manage Colwill right now and make sure they map out an expressway for our first team because this kid is the real assignment.
