Chelsea must now head to the striker transfer market

Injury FC attacks again at Chelsea, and Armando Borja joins the long list of many top Chelsea players who have had the worst luck with

momentous injuries in the last few summers.

I’m definitely demolished for Borja, who is anticipated to miss the whole rest of the season now at the very least after doing his ACL in a

the cordial match against Aston Villa on Sunday.

I think we all knew

precisely what had occurred and

dread the worst when he went down in pure agony screeching and clutching his knee after going in for a challenge. Absolutely eviscerated for him and wish him a fast improvement

The worst-case scenario means he could now be out for 12 months though, and that means Chelsea must react in January and sign a substitution. We are already short of true number 9-type strikers and options to play there even before Borja was injured, and Chelsea had already been linked with a number of new forwards. So this must precipitate those thoughts even more now and we must sign a new winger in January.

Who, might you ask? Well, that is for our scouting and recruiting

section to get to work on. But will need to have a

mindful look around and join a new striker who can play as a 9, in my meek

judgment.

It’s horrible news and luck for Borja, who had just signed a new long-term agreement at Chelsea and was battling for a

constant starting spot. His continuation will now stall, but he still has youth on his side and will be back.

In the interim, Chelsea will need to put themselves first and

enlist for the here and now in the January transfer market.
