Erik ten Hag pays respects to the Busby Babes on the anniversary of the Munich air disaster

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has paid his courtesy in reminiscence of the Busby Babes who lost their lives in the Munich air calamity.

Today marks the 65th jubilee of the cataclysm that hit the club, and the Dutchman will be the reasoning of those who were taken so young.

The eight players who terribly expired on that pivotal night in 1958 were an essential part of the team who had flown to Belgrade to play in the club’s first-ever European semi-final.

But as lift-off failed, those who died on board, besides 15 other poor souls, were forever implanted in fans’ hearts and souls.

And the heritage of our talented babes is such that the sheer enormity of today has been recognized on manutd.com, by Ten Hag.

“I think it’s actually significant because it tells a residue for Manchester United. It tells something about, certainly, the reminiscence for people who fell away, who died too early”, Ten Hag told United’s media.

The 53-year-old said that the attacking ethos and faith in youth is part of the legacy created by Sir Matt Busby and his team.

”We have to recall that every year but also it was a legacy for dedication to attacking football. I believe this is still in the club, still, the players are getting here [in] their careers but also we still are playing with the outlook from that time”, told the manager, who has United playing with a homogeneous attitude to the Babes.

“That is something we have to keep memorized and it’s good that we do that again on Monday (today)”, he resumed, as the whole club paid their approvals.

Sir Matt built his side on circumstance where it was obligatory, but more so his nurturing of, and total faith in youth, was the real basis for the attempt.

And as the Babes are commemorated today, Ten Hag has spoken of his own views on United’s conservatory, of which he has already shown so much belief this summer.

“For every football club, it should be a large issue, the conservatory. You have to also there set high quality about building players and giving the players the occasion to get a special football career”, told the United boss.

“Not only that but also, as a club, we have the authority to create the character. It’s great that

heritage is still a large stimulation and innovation to fulfill that”, he concluded.

And as Reds young and old remember on this anniversary of such tragedy, the manager's words will bring comfort to fans, knowing that the club’s history, just like the Babes, will never be forgotten.
